Google has launched Incognito Mode for google maps to enhance the privacy of the user
The biggest tech giant, Google has launched the incognito mode for Google maps, in order to enhance the privacy of its users. Google has launched the incognito mode for Google chrome’s users in 2008.
What is the Incognito mode?
Incognito Mode is a feature in any browser that lets the user browse in a private mode. It doesn’t save any cookies or history and also websites you access cannot track your activities in incognito mode.
Google has provided this incognito feature in Google Chrome in 2008 and has also enabled this feature for YouTube. On YouTube, when you search/watch any video in incognito mode, it doesn’t influence your timeline with your search/watch history.
How incognito mode works in Google Maps?
When a user uses google maps in incognito mode, the activities performed in the google maps will not get saved into google accounts. And thus, google can’t use the data for personalized suggestions.
By the launch of this update, Google has fixed a loophole that permits various websites to track user activity. In addition, different features like controlling your data with the help of a voice assistant, even the activities of the assistant can be deleted from the account using the different voice commands. Some of them are, “Hey Google, will you please delete the last thing I just said to you?” or “Hi google, please delete everything I said to you last month.”
There are various tools like, Security Checkup and Password Checkup which works as follows:
Security checkup tells you everything like show the devices where the account has been accessed, suspicious login activities, etc.
Password Checkup tells you whether your password is strong enough or not. It will also alert you if you re-use a password or used a compromised one.
How can you get Incognito Mode enabled for the google maps in your device?
It is totally up to you if you want to enable the incognito mode or not. Although if you want to, then there are few steps written below, simply go through them:
Step 1: Open the Google Maps apps on your device or in a browser
Step 2: Tap on your “profile photo”, it is the profile photo of the google account you have used to login into google maps.
Step 3: There is an option in the list appeared, named “Turn On Incognito Mode”, simply tap on that
